Lemon balm essential oil is extracted from Cymbopogon citratus, also known as grass, from fresh or partially dried leaves by steam distillation. This oil is said to fight fatigue and help refresh a tired body and mind. It is also a good way to keep a pet free from fleas and ticks.

Lemon balm contains citral, which provides the main flavor of lemon peel. Lemon balm oil is believed to relieve headaches, nervous exhaustion and stress. It increases the parasympathetic nervous system, for faster recovery from illness and stimulates glandular secretions. Helps tone muscles and tissues, relieving muscle pain. It is useful in treating sore throat, laryngitis and fever and helps stop the spread of infection. Helps with colitis, indigestion and gastroenteritis. Cleanses oily skin and reduces excessive sweating. However, it can irritate the skin, so care must be taken when used on the skin. Avoid use during pregnancy.
